The Closing Day
This is the day they hand you the keys. It’s also the day you hand your lawyer the balance of your purchase price and the day the bank turns over the mortgage money. It will be hectic, but try to enjoy this milestone in your life!
Condo buyers will have a second reason to celebrate later because they not only have an occupancy closing but a final closing, which occurs when the condominium is registered and they actually take possession of title.
After unpacking and celebrating, or vice versa, one of your first chores should be to get the names, addresses, account numbers and payment days for your mortgage, taxes, utilities and so on. This is also a good time to note the location or telephone numbers of emergency services and nearby hospitals or poison control centre.
