Home Builder Awards finalists revealed

The judges have come and gone, the more than 800 nominees have been winnowed down to less than 200 finalists, and the excitement is building towards the 28th annual Home Builder Awards, BILD’s celebration of the best of the best homebuilders, community developments, projects, product and promotion.

The most nominated builder is Monarch Homes, leading the way with 14 nominations followed by Mattamy with 12, Freed Developments and Eden Oak with 10 each and Branthaven Homes with 9 nominations.

Focusing on the projects as opposed to the builders, the most nominated high-rise project is Festival Tower by Daniels, with 7 nominations followed by 650 King (Freed) and The Four Seasons (Menkes/Lifetime) with six each and L Tower (Fernbrook/Castlepoint) and Beyond the Sea (Empire), with 5 each.

From a low-rise project standpoint Oak Bay by Eden Oak tops all projects (low- or high-rise) with 9 nominations followed by Mosaic (Branthaven), Traditions (Heathwood), Meadows in the Glen (Intracorp) and Heritage (Monarch), all with six each.

The finalists for the coveted Home Builder of the Year award for quality and customer service are Heathwood Homes, Mattamy Homes, Rosehaven Homes, Great Gulf Homes and North Star Homes. These builders own buyers have determined the ultimate winner through their responses to our independent survey, but you’ll have to wait until April 25th to find out who they have chosen.

Finalists for the prestigious Green Builder of the Year Award, high-rise, are Diamante Developments, Liberty Development, TAS Design Build and Tridel. Low-rise finalists are Baywood Homes, Berkshire Homes, Empire Communities and Intracorp.

A link to the complete finalist list for the more than 40 awards, including Community and Project of the Year, low- and high-rise can be found at bildgta.ca.
